Where Maverick & Co. is ahead
The Cosmopolitan is better organised. It has ten card slots plus two hidden ones, and a pull-tab holder that lifts your most-used cards out. There's a small slot for a spare SIM card, which helps if you swap SIMs when you travel. It comes in four colours in stock, including two-tone navy-orange and black-grey, and you can add engraved initials from AED 179. Maverick & Co. also publishes its exact size.
Where Emery is ahead
The Alden is AED 160 cheaper. It's vegetable-tanned full-grain leather from LWG-certified tanneries, lined in leather. Maverick & Co. calls the Cosmopolitan's leather "fine" in its description and "top-grain" in its spec table, and doesn't describe the lining. Top-grain has had its surface sanded and refinished, while full-grain keeps the natural surface, so it softens and darkens with use. Our leather glossary explains the grades. The Alden holds 8 to 12 cards, with a cash compartment and two flat pockets, and it has RFID protection; Maverick & Co. describes the Cosmopolitan's as half-side.
Emery's warranty on the Alden is lifetime, against 12 months. You have 100 days to return it, against 30. Emery delivers free across the GCC in 1–3 days in the UAE. Maverick & Co. shows the delivery cost at checkout and quotes 5–7 business days to the UAE.
Which should you choose?
Choose Maverick & Co. if you want hidden card slots, a pull-tab card holder, a SIM slot, a two-tone colour or your initials on it.
Choose Emery if you want full-grain leather lined in leather, RFID protection, a lower price, and a lifetime warranty with 100-day returns.
