Leather: natural grain vs a printed finish

Vonto makes the QAWS from cowhide embossed with a crocodile print, which presses a croc-style texture into the surface. It's a bolder look that stands out on a desk or at a majlis. Which you prefer is a matter of taste: a natural grain that ages, or a striking pattern. Our leather glossary explains the terms.
RFID and capacity
The Alden blocks RFID readers from scanning your contactless cards, and holds five cards in slots plus more in the central pocket. Vonto's page doesn't mention RFID or say how many cards the QAWS holds, so ask them if either matters to you.
Design and personalisation
This is where Vonto is ahead. The QAWS is named after the Arabic word for "arch", has a curved opening and contrast stitching, comes in four colours, and can be personalised. That makes it a strong choice if you want a piece with clear Emirati character, or a gift with a name on it. Emery's card case is deliberately plain and doesn't offer personalisation.
Returns and warranty
Vonto asks you to request a return within 3 days of delivery, accepts only unused items, and has you pay the return shipping. Personalised items can't be returned. We couldn't find a warranty on their site. Emery gives 100 days to return the Alden card case and a lifetime warranty on it.
Which should you choose?
Choose Vonto if you want a distinctive Emirati-inspired design, a crocodile-print finish, a colour like Verde or Burgundy, or your name on it.
Choose Emery if you want natural full-grain leather, RFID protection, a lifetime warranty and 100 days to decide, for about half the price.
