The best travel wallet in the UAE depends on how many passports you carry: a slim passport holder like the Maverick & Co. Artis or Carl Friedrik Easton is enough for one, and a zip-around travel wallet like the Jafferjees Shenzhen or Emery Voyager makes sense for two or more. We compared 7 travel wallets and passport holders sold in the UAE, using only what each brand says on its own site.
We're Emery, so one of the 7 is ours. We've kept the table factual and said where the others do better. If you're packing for the Haram, our guide to the travel wallet for Hajj and Umrah covers what to carry and what to leave in the hotel.

How do the top travel wallets and passport holders compare?
Prices are what each site showed in AED on 1 Nov 2026. Brands are in A–Z order.
| Brand and model | Type | Price | Passports | Cards | RFID | Warranty | Returns |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Carl Friedrik Easton | Slim sleeve | AED 665 | 1 | 1 or 2 (page says both) | Not mentioned | Lifetime | 60 days, £30 return cost from the UAE |
| Emery Voyager Travel Wallet | Zip-around | ~~AED 420~~ AED 294 | 2 | 6 + cash | Yes | Lifetime | 100 days |

| Kaizer Duncan | Single fold | AED 789 (with 2 luggage tags) | Passport holder | 6 | Not mentioned | 1 year | 14 days, unused |
| Maverick & Co. Artis | Slim cover | AED 199 on sale (AED 235 full) | Slip pockets | 4 | Not mentioned | 12 months | 30 days |
| Nappa Dori Zip Passport Case | Zip case | AED 375 | 1 | 10 + ID window | Not mentioned | Not stated | 15 days, unused with tags |

Example: You're flying to London with your wife, and you hold both passports. A slim cover takes 1 passport, so you'd need 2 of them. The Voyager takes both passports, 6 cards and cash in one zipped wallet, and the Jafferjees Shenzhen has 2 open pockets that can take a passport each. Travelling with children too? Look at a folio with 3 passport slots.
Travel wallet or passport holder: which do you need?
A passport holder (or passport cover) is a slim sleeve for 1 passport and a card or two. It goes in a jacket pocket and you hand it over at the counter. The Carl Friedrik, Maverick & Co. and Ryoko pieces here are this type.
A travel wallet zips or folds around passports, cards, cash and a boarding pass, so the whole trip sits in one place. It's bigger, about the size of a paperback. The Emery Voyager, Jafferjees Shenzhen and Nappa Dori case are this type.
Our view: if you carry anyone else's passport, get a travel wallet. If it's only yours and your boarding pass is on your phone, a passport holder is enough.
Each brand, and where it wins
Carl Friedrik
The Easton Passport Sleeve is vegetable-tanned vachetta from a named Tuscan tannery, 14.5 × 10 cm, in Chocolate, Black or Cognac, with a lifetime warranty for functional faults. It's a sleeve for 1 passport; the page lists 1 card slot in its specs and 2 cards elsewhere. Express delivery to the UAE is AED 195 plus duties, and returns from the UAE cost £30. See Emery vs Carl Friedrik passport holder.
Emery
Our Voyager Travel Wallet holds 2 passports, 6 cards and cash, with a slip pocket on the back for a boarding pass. It's 18.5 × 12 × 2 cm, about 150 g, with a YKK zip, a soft goat leather lining and RFID protection. For a family, the Voyager Travel Folio (~~AED 310~~ AED 217) takes 3 passports, 6 cards and 2 flat pockets, with a carry strap. For a phone and 1 passport, the Voyager Travel Pouch (~~AED 290~~ AED 203) has a wrist strap. Lifetime warranty, 100 days to return or exchange, and free delivery across the GCC. Where others win: no initials, no store to see it in, and the Voyager is bulkier than a slim cover.
Jafferjees
The Shenzhen Travel Wallet zips all round and has 8 card slots, full-length pockets, a pen holder (handy for arrival forms) and 2 open pockets for a ticket or passport. It's 207 × 127 mm, in Maroon or Dark Tan when we checked, and you can see it in their Dubai and Sharjah stores. The site doesn't state the leather, RFID or a warranty, and online sales can't be refunded or exchanged. See Emery vs Jafferjees travel wallet.
Kaizer Leather
The Duncan Travel Wallet is calf leather in black with white contrast stitching, a single fold with 6 card slots, 2 document pockets, a passport holder and a receipt pocket, 12.5 × 17.5 × 1 cm. It comes with a set of 2 leather luggage tags, which makes it a ready-made gift, and you can see it at the showroom in Deira. It's the most expensive here, with a 1-year warranty and 14-day returns. See Emery vs Kaizer travel wallet.
Maverick & Co.
The Artis Leather Passport Holder is the cheapest here, and light at 73 g: 10 × 14 × 1 cm, 4 card slots and slip pockets for a passport and boarding pass, with engraved initials on the cover. It has a 12-month warranty and 30-day returns, and delivery to the UAE takes 5–7 business days. See Emery vs Maverick & Co. passport holder.
Nappa Dori
The Zip Passport Case has the most card space: 10 card slots behind a zip, an ID window and 2 slip-in sections, around 1 passport. It's 17.78 × 12.7 cm, lined in striped cotton, in Dark Brown, Black or Tan. The site doesn't state a warranty, returns are 15 days unused with tags, and delivery is charged by weight. See Emery vs Nappa Dori passport case.
Ryoko
The Smith Passport Wallet is oil pull-up leather, 10.4 × 15.2 cm, in Tan, Black or Vintage Brown, with a name monogram for AED 35 (AED 50 in gold). It has a 2-year warranty and free UAE delivery. The page doesn't state a card count or RFID. See Emery vs Ryoko passport wallet.
Watch out: Ryoko's returns window is 100 days on its policy page but 15 days on its product pages, and personalised pieces can't be returned at Ryoko or Maverick & Co. Ask before you order initials.
What should a travel wallet hold for a GCC trip?
None of the guides that rank for this search are written for travel from the Gulf, so here's what we'd pack:
- Passports for everyone you hold papers for. Count them before you buy: that number decides the wallet.
- Your Emirates ID or national ID card. GCC citizens can travel between GCC countries on their national ID card, so on a short Gulf trip it may be the only document you need.
- Your Nol card and office pass, outside the RFID pocket. RFID lining blocks them too, so keep them in a coat pocket or your everyday wallet.
- One card slot for a second currency card and a pocket for cash in the local currency for the first taxi.
- A boarding pass slot, even if it's on your phone: a paper backup helps when the battery dies at the gate.
- A SIM tool and your home SIM if you swap SIMs abroad. A zipped pocket stops them falling out.
Tip: On a family trip, give each passport its own slot and the same order every time (yours, your spouse's, then the children's by age). At the counter you hand them over without opening each one to check the name.
Is an RFID travel wallet worth it?
It's a small extra layer, not a reason to buy on its own. RFID lining stops an e-passport and contactless cards from being read at close range. Of these 7, only Emery states RFID on the product page. A wallet that zips shut and stays close to you does more against loss in a busy airport. More in do you need an RFID wallet.
How do you choose a travel wallet?
- Count the passports you'll carry: 1 means a passport holder will do; 2 or more means a travel wallet or folio.
- Decide zip or open. A zip keeps everything in when the wallet is dropped or jostled; a slim cover is quicker at the counter.
- Check the size against your pocket or bag, in cm, not "compact".
- Read the warranty and returns. Here they run from no online returns to 100 days, and from not stated to lifetime.
Check before you buy: how many passports it really holds; whether the boarding pass has its own slot; whether it closes with a zip; whether RFID is stated on the product page itself; the size in cm; the warranty; and whether a personalised piece can be returned.
